Summer internship programme

Our summer internship programme runs for 10 weeks from June to September. The programme commences with an intensive week of training where we cover everything from product overviews, simulations and technical skill sessions to ensure you are equipped to hit the desk running. Once on the desk, you will be exposed to challenging work that will extend your skills, knowledge and exposure to the markets and a career on the Trading floor at J.P. Morgan.

Throughout the internship we also offer weekly teach-ins and sessions with our senior leaders to continue your learning and ensure you are able to make the most of your time with us. Networking and building your contacts is also and incredibly important part of the programme so you can also expect social events along the way. In addition, our mentoring programme will partner you with an experienced analyst so that you can make the most of the expertise of those already working at J.P. Morgan. This support will be invaluable at this initial stage of your career.

Off cycle internship programme

If you are flexible with your availability, an off cycle internship could be for you. These internships last for approximately 3 to 6 months and can start at any time of the year.

Assigned to a specific desk, you will be fully integrated into the team, the business and the product you're aligned to. You will learn a significant amount from on-the-job training, as well as more formalised training throughout the programme. You can expect monthly "Teach-ins" from our business experts hosted by knowledgeable representatives from different asset classes, who will offer insights into topical market activities. You will network with senior business representatives, learn more about the different products and discuss movements and events in the financial markets.

How to apply

Applications for 2015 intake are now closed.
Each business area runs recruitment processes consisting of one to two rounds of interviews and an assessment centre consisting of case studies and some testing. The majority of our programs do not require numeracy testing.


  • We recruit from all academic disciplines
  • You must have an expected degree minimum of a 2:1 or European equivalent (results to date should clearly demonstrate that this is a realistic indication)
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite. A second European language is essential for some roles and advantageous for others
  • We’re looking for team players and future leaders with exceptional drive, creativity and interpersonal skills. Impeccable academic credentials are important, but so are your achievements outside the classroom
