Global Social Responsibility
J.P. Morgan is committed to building vibrant communities, preserving our environment and promoting an inclusive culture across the globe that benefits people today and for generations to come. Our global social responsibility activities aim to create long-term, positive change in some of the most challenged communities.
In 2008, our firm and our Foundation made charitable contributions of approximately $100 million. And over the past five years, we have given more than $600 million to 13,500 organizations globally.
"We have always been deeply committed to being good corporate citizens. It is an essential part of what we do - and who we are - as a firm. As such, we have intensified our corporate responsibility efforts, directing resources to make a meaningful difference to the people who live and work in the communities in which we operate."
Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO JPMorgan Chase & Co. March 2009
