Education

J.P. Morgan recognizes the crucial part that education plays in the well-being of our society. We believe the firm has a responsibility to inspire the ambitions of young people and provide them with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed.

We recognize the importance of education for the success of both the individual and the entire community. Working with schools and other non-profit organizations, we provide financial and practical support for initiatives that broaden learning opportunities for young people.

  • At the J.P. Morgan School Mentoring Program in London, 200 J.P. Morgan employees mentor more than 300 young people (aged 14-18 years). In 2008, the firm launched the Creative Skills for Life Program, a series of workshops focused on confidence, presentation skills, identity and networking. More than 120 mentees took part, and our employees continue to have regular follow-up mentoring sessions. The mentoring program was recently expanded to our French and German offices, with great success.
  • In the U.S., the U.K. and Asia, J.P. Morgan works with Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) to place outstanding diverse students in summer intern positions at the firm. Through its career program, SEO introduces talented undergraduates to the financial services industry, and provides the opportunity to explore challenging and rewarding careers.
  • Our Asset Management business in New York recently hosted J.P. Morgan's first six month life-skills mentoring program that taught middle school students about professional development, career planning, and personal finance.
  • The firm recently pledged a donation to Injaz al-Arab, the Middle East & North Africa's headquarter for Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide which provides in-school and after-school programs for students, focusing on three key areas: work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. The donation has enabled Injaz to introduce and adapt an innovative and effective business success skills curriculum to one of the most vulnerable and underserved populations.
