Employee volunteering

"As the global economy faces increasingly difficult times, we believe it is more important than ever to offer our skills to help areas of the world that could be hardest hit."
Steve Black co-CEO J.P. Morgan Investment Bank

Our people are devoted to the communities they serve, and we continue to build our legacy of actively investing our human and financial capital through volunteerism and philanthropy across the globe. Here's how we take our commitment and put it into action:

Take team IB for example. Launched in 2006, team IB is a global program specifically designed to encourage and support employees in the Investment Bank who give their time to support worthy causes. It's about making a tangible difference in our communities - from providing educational opportunities to improving the environment to advancing health issues. To date, team IB has raised over $2.5 million and engaged over 4,700 volunteers around the world.

Here are a few examples of employee-led volunteer initiatives:

  • Hong Kong employees pulled together in less than 48 hours and raised nearly HK$1.3 million from employees to benefit the victims of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. The money will be used to build two schools in Sichuan.
  • Teaming up with Sunflower Children, a humanitarian aid organization devoted to helping children overcome poverty all over the world, employees helped organize a benefit for a children's home in Colombia.
