Museums and culture
Then there are the museums, most of which will admit you for free with your J.P. Morgan ID card. Museum Mile on upper Fifth Avenue is home to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim and the Cooper-Hewitt. The Whitney is nearby. Closest to J.P. Morgan's midtown offices is the Museum of Modern Art. There's also the famous Brooklyn Museum, with one of the largest Egyptology collections in the country. There are a host of smaller museums throughout the boroughs, too.
For the scoop on the cultural happenings that come and go every day, flavorpill.com showcases the week's "cultural stimuli" and offers a great newsletter that will keep you informed of the latest gallery openings, concerts, readings, exhibition debuts, film screenings and more. Other great resources include: freenyc.com, citysearch.com, gothamist.com and nymag.com.
