J.P. Morgan had the honor of sponsoring two award ceremonies recognizing and celebrating the achievements of women in technology: TechWomen100 and Women in IT London Awards

Sjoukje Ijlstra, Christine Lester and Priyanshi Srivastava from our Global Technology team in EMEA were recently honored in the 2019 TechWomen100 Awards hosted by WeAreTechWomen. Showcasing remarkable women within the technology sector, the awards celebrate emerging talent, spanning a broad array of roles including Software Engineers, Aircraft Engineers, Product Managers and Cloud Consultants.

​The awards had over 700 nominations from across the U.K and Ireland and 30,000 votes of support from across the globe, making the wins even more impressive. Alison MacPherson, Head of Global Technology Workforce Strategy said;

 

The most impactful contribution we make as colleagues and leaders is to enable everyone to bring their best authentic selves to the workplace, so that we are diverse in every sense of the word and representative of the communities in which we live and work.

The evening award ceremony was opened with a keynote address from Karen Rossi, Managing Director, Global Head of Cleared Derivatives Technology and Prime Finance Technology. The evening was truly inspirational and a great way to celebrate female talent within the technology industry.

Continuing the success, Cara Wright, from Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Glasgow was shortlisted in the Young Leader of the Year category at the Women in IT London Awards alongside Zen Ali from Global Technology Infastructure London who was shortlisted in the Business Role Model of the Year category. Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair, J.P. Morgan were premium sponsors and sponsors of the Diversity Inititative of the Year Award, which was presented by Mike Grimaldi, Managing Director, CIO for CIB.
