Hi, my name is Pallavi. I am an Executive Director, Software Engineering in India. I am responsible for building data products in asset and wealth management line of business. Operational colleagues spend a lot of time analyzing data, so we provide them tools and technologies to be able to be efficient. And the impact is basically building the latest and greatest product and delivering the solutions quickly. It helps us improve the time to market. JP Morgan Chase is a financial firm offering a lot of products that are technology based. There are 21 tech centers we have across the globe. I've been here at JP Morgan Chase for 5 plus years. The culture of JP Morgan Chase, the support that I get from my leadership team, I can call out like a hundred reasons why I am still with JP Morgan Chase. Learning in the job. It’s really one of the top banks investing at scale on people, innovation and technology. Good ideas can come from anywhere. It doesn't have to be from the leadership team. I play keyboard and then use that as a rejuvenating thing. Music is a kind of stress buster for me. It's something that definitely gives me energy. So then I go back to my teams and say that, "Okay, we can do this in a different way."

My favorite piece of music is Bollywood songs. I wanted to be a doctor when I was child. Three words to sum up my day, passion, teamwork, and focus. My career advice. Don't be pressured by any external events. Do the right thing and focus on your work. Am I done with all of this?

ERWIN:

Hi, I'm Erwin. So, I'm a vice president working in cyber security operations in Singapore. We are like the ninjas behind the scene. Ultimately, what we want to do is to provide a safe environment for the staff and for our client. Cloud technologies is the "in" thing right now. When technologies like these roll out, cyber security would have to understand how it works, how it could be exploited, what threats it could bring to the firm. My team operates in the 24 by 7, 365 model. We take over from the New York team in the morning and we hand over to the UK team in the afternoon. It's really exciting to be part of a global operations, knowing that you are able to work with people across the globe, and also people with diverse backgrounds. The culture in JPMorgan is really collaborative, and everyone is just helpful. I feel JPMorgan provides me a very safe environment to learn. I have a lot of mentorship opportunities. I learned a lot from my mentors, senior leaders. And that's how I feel I am successful in my career. So, one of the coolest things that I have done is to take on the responsibility of a youth ambassador, where I run youth programs in Singapore. What we want to do is to introduce technology to the youth. So that they are aware of how technology can be used, how to use technology, and how technology could impact their lives. I play in a big orchestra. So, when I'm playing the clarinet, I tend to let go of everything. I focus a lot on music, the melody, phrasing, and enjoying the moment. Similar to work. There are times that you need to take a lead, and there are times that you have to step back and work together as a team to deliver results.

My favorite composer is Mozart. When I was a child, I aspired to be astronaut. Three words to sum up my day is just exciting. My career advice would be, if an opportunity ever presents up to you, be brave, take it. Thank you.

NIVEAD:

Hey, my name is Nivead. My role at JPMorgan Chase is to lead the Cloud Cycle Ability Engineering Team. Our mission is to transform technical infrastructure into the modern cloud platform. For the customer, it means new products and services will be launched faster. The future banking experience is going to be much smoother. Every day when we come in, there is a different challenge waiting on for us. We have to solve problems differently than we have done earlier. You never want to open your mobile app and see your money disappear. So, that is a challenge, a unique challenge, that we have in JPMorgan Chase. To operate and scale, deliver innovation with extreme care. Just like any other industry, innovation is critical. The way people interact with their money, the way you trade on the market, it's all changing. When I come in here, we were still thinking about how do we support this massive scale-up, migration to the cloud. I would say the massive transformation that we have done in the last two years is a great achievement. Having less than 100 applications in the cloud, to like close to more than 500 applications running from this cloud platform here. I do a lot of family hikes because I have two small kids. So, hiking helps me, for the work week, think fresh and deliver better results.

So, we have a lot of beautiful mountains, lakes, which makes it one of the best places to work. So, fun at work is a very important part of our culture. We do virtual lunches, virtual games and there's more interesting things in here. There will be something new for me always, where I have to think differently. Three words to sum up my day is teamwork, innovation, and fun. My career advice: take ownership, take initiative, never stop plotting.
