J.P. Morgan recognised for advancing disability inclusion in Europe

The firm is committed to recruiting and retaining employees with disabilities.  


J.P. Morgan is being recognised for the progress it's making in Europe to drive disability inclusion in the workplace.

The firm was honoured by Springboard Consulting at its 7th Annual Disability Matters Europe Conference & Awards in Feltham, U.K., in the workplace category. The awards ceremony took place in November.

Each year, Springboard honours exemplary organizational initiatives that promote the outreach, support and engagement of people with disabilities as employees and as consumers.

"The honourees represent the gold standard when it comes to the commitment required — and actions necessary — to successfully mainstream disability in the European workforce, workplace and marketplace," Springboard stated.

"These corporate honourees serve as the role models all organisations should strive to become."

Vignesh Ashok, vice president with EMEA Diversity & Inclusion, accepted the award on the firm's behalf. He also discussed the firm's journey to making its workplace inclusive for people with disabilities during a panel discussion at the conference.

​And, earlier this year, J.P. Morgan advanced to the second stage in its certification as a Disability Confide​nt Employer in the U.K., demonstrating its commitment to inclusive and accessible employment practices.

In 2018, the firm made a commitment to recruit and retain employees with disabilities by signing on to the U.K. government's Disability Confident Scheme and achieving its Level 1 designation.
