Wei Han Ong, Managing Director, Senior Country Business Manager & Singapore Program Sponsor:
J.P. Morgan is a global leader in financial services. Here in Singapore, we are a key strategy hub for the firm, and we have more than 4,000 employees. Our Singapore Apprenticeship Program is a one-year program that allow polytechnic graduates to work with us and gain financial services experience.
Hazel Lim, Apprentice Program Graduate:
I found out about the program through a close friend of mine in the last semester of school. Everyone was talking about what a great opportunity it is. I joined the program as a business manager, fell in love with the culture here. Sometimes, just being in the place where it happens, I feel very inspired by the people that I work with. There are so many opportunities to really get out there, learn from senior leaders. I actually love the program so much that I recommended it to my friend Nicholas.
Nicholas Tan, Apprentice Program Graduate:
I feel that this apprenticeship program itself gave me a headstart. This one year made me grow a lot. Not physically, though. No, I didn't get any taller. Now we are living in a different era right now. Not everyone has to go through the traditional route of university, and I do learn something new every day. So this program was really fruitful, I would say.
Hazel:
I can say that by the end of the program. I definitely matured. I felt like I developed myself as a working professional. All of these soft skills, the communication, and what does it mean to work with stakeholders that are going to take me further in my career?
Wei Han:
I'm always motivated to see our graduates coming into the program and succeeding in the firm. That's really made this program such a joy to be a sponsor.
Nicholas:
If you're applying for the program, think about the journey, learn more, explore more, and make meaningful friendships along the way.
